Richie Sambora

Music is a moving force in my life, and rarely acts in the background. Growing up is never easy, and I found my escape through music, both playing it, and listening to it. When I listen, I don't just use my ears - my whole being is involved. I remember singing along with every part of me, allowing the notes and sounds to pour through me. As a friend said once, "music is to the soul what water is to the body." Indeed.

While my friends were tearing their hearts out over Jon, I was listening in the background, my soul led along by Richie's skills, and backing vocals. I was elated to hear he was doing a solo disk, and got to see him in a cozy bar setting, sans Jon. (I think. There was something funny about that keyboard player for the opening band. Too much of a beard, and that huge Elvis wallhanging over the front of the keyboard....introducing him as Uncle Mel...? Jon had a nickname once - Melvis. I don't know...it just didn't feel right.)
